36 kg fat lost while enjoying burger with fries: Hollywood star's diet and exercise routine for weight loss

Send Push
Hollywood star Rebel Wilson, known for her role in Pitch Perfect, lost nearly 36 kg after dedicating herself to a health-focused lifestyle in 2020. Her journey combined balanced eating, consistent workouts, and a shift in mindset, showing that lasting weight loss can be sustainable without giving up favorite foods.

Diet and Lifestyle Changes

Wilson told People that before her transformation, she consumed around 3,000 calories daily, mainly from carbohydrates, often eating emotionally to cope with stress and personal loss. She transitioned to a high-protein diet with salmon, chicken breast, lean beef tacos, and protein shakes, while keeping portion sizes moderate.

She emphasized that nothing was off-limits, noting that even burgers and fries could fit into her routine when eaten in smaller quantities.

Exercise Routine and Career Impact

Her fitness plan combined strength training with long daily walks, which were especially effective in reducing body fat, according to high-tech assessments cited by People. By October 2021, Wilson had lost 35 kg and eventually surpassed 36 kg, a change she says opened doors to more serious acting roles and helped her break free from typecasting in Hollywood, as she shared with SiriusXM.

After welcoming her daughter Royce via surrogate in 2022, Wilson admitted to the Daily Mail that lack of sleep and a busy lifestyle led to regaining about 14 kg. In April 2025, she launched a personal six-week challenge to refocus on her health and well-being (People).

Health Considerations and Mindset

Living with PCOS influenced Wilson’s approach to fitness and fertility goals. She also acknowledged using Ozempic to manage appetite, as reported by The Sunday Times, while emphasizing that her main focus remains sustainable habits and self-care. Wilson highlights that body positivity and health can coexist, framing weight loss as a step toward a healthier self rather than conforming to societal expectations.
