DRA Homes, a Chennai based residential developers, has acquired a 4.38-acre land parcel at Chembarambakkam along the Chennai–Bengaluru Highway for about ₹50 crore, marking an addition to its portfolio in Western Chennai’s fast-growing corridor. The company plans to develop a one-million sq. ft. mid-segment housing project with an estimated sales potential of ₹650 crore.
The proposed development will be designed as a Gold-rated Green building, will feature thoughtfully planned apartments, serviced residences for flexible short-term stays.
“The Chennai–Bengaluru Highway has evolved into a key national corridor connecting two major economic hubs. Its growing ecosystem of industries, educational institutions, and connectivity upgrades is making it one of India’s most promising residential destinations,” said Ranjeeth Rathod, Managing Director, DRA Homes.
“Securing this land parcel is a cornerstone for our vision of delivering sustainable, modern living to a national audience. Our Gold-rated Green building will combine smart design, flexible living options, and community-centric amenities to create homes that cater to India’s mobile professionals and families,” he added.
The stretch along the Chennai–Bengaluru Highway is witnessing a transformation driven by large infrastructure projects and employment hubs. Proximity to the upcoming Parandur International Airport, industrial clusters at Sriperumbudur and Poonamallee, and the proposed metro corridor has strengthened its appeal among investors and homebuyers.
The area’s growing prominence has also attracted developers targeting mid-segment buyers looking for well-connected yet affordable housing options. DRA’s project is expected to tap into this demand, appealing to both long-term homeowners and transient professionals seeking flexible living options.
By introducing a hybrid housing format that combines mid-segment apartments with serviced residences, DRA Homes aims to bridge the gap between traditional homeownership and flexible urban living. The project’s sustainability-focused design will emphasize energy-efficient systems, water management, and eco-friendly materials, supporting DRA’s broader environmental commitments.
The company said the upcoming project aligns with its long-term strategy to expand in Chennai’s emerging residential corridors while maintaining focus on sustainable construction and customer-centric delivery.
