Jose Mourinho is set to make a triumphant return to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening as his Benfica side face off against his former team, Chelsea, in the Champions League. The Portuguese coach became a club legend in west London, bagging three Premier League titles, three League Cups and an FA Cup across two spells with the Blues between 2004 and 2007 and again from 2013 to 2015.
He's since taken the reins of some of the globe's biggest teams, clinching league championships in four different countries, with powerhouses like Real Madrid and Inter Milan adorning his impressive CV. After additional stints in England with Manchester United and Tottenham, as well as periods with Roma and Fenerbahce, Mourinho has now returned to where it all began for him, having re-joined Benfica after a quarter of a century earlier this month.
His extraordinary list of accolades and status as one of the greatest managers of all time means that many are familiar with the 62-year-old when it comes to his career in the dugout - but Mourinho tends to keep his personal life under wraps. From his staggering net worth to his family life and a oft-forgotten arrest, here's everything you need to know.
Huge net worthGiven his history with some of the world's most prestigious football clubs, it's hardly surprising that Mourinho has amassed a considerable personal fortune during his 25 years as a top-tier manager. Astonishingly, his net worth is estimated to be around the £100million mark.
He's believed to have pocketed roughly £98m in wages throughout his English football career, but has also famously accumulated millions from being dismissed from various managerial positions over the years. He notoriously secured a massive £15m compensation package when Spurs showed him the door four years ago, whilst also receiving substantial severance deals upon leaving United and Chelsea.

This month, speculation suggested Mourinho was poised to collect £30m across his two-year deal with Benfica, but he's firmly dismissed these claims, insisting he's actually "in the red," and accepted the role for the "unique opportunity" rather than financial gain.
"If I had stayed at home until the end of the season, I would have earned more than I did at Benfica," he revealed following his return to the club. "It's that simple. If I had enjoyed time with my family, stayed in London, brought them here, gone to the Algarve, and made a few trips, I would have earned more. I'm not even here for nothing; I'm in the red.
"And why? Because I really enjoy working. I missed playing for what Benfica is playing for: for the title. I couldn't do that in Rome, nor at Fenerbahce. It's a unique opportunity for me as a coach and as a person. Staying at home is not for me."
Mourinho has also boosted his wealth through partnerships with major brands including Samsung, American Express, Braun, Jaguar and Adidas, plus occasional punditry assignments.
Rarely-seen wife and family life
Mourinho has been wed to his childhood sweetheart Matilde 'Tami' Faria for over 35 years, having exchanged vows in 1989 after meeting in the manager's hometown of Setubal during their youth.
The couple share two children - daughter Matilde, born in 1996, and Jose Mario Jr, born in 2000. Whilst Tami prefers to remain away from the limelight, Matilde has become a social media influencer boasting over 55,000 Instagram followers, alongside founding her own jewellery brand.
Jose Jr, meanwhile, was formerly a budding goalkeeper who spent three years with Fulham, though he has since moved from the pitch to the touchline as he pursues a coaching career like his father. He even took a place on the bench beside his dad during his United tenure, providing tactical insights following matches.
"In a period of a few bad results one day, he comes up with some analysis on my team – obviously suffering because dad wasn't doing well," Mourinho said. "We had lost to Watford and Manchester City, I think, and he came with the stats of the team. I showed them to my assistants, and I told them, 'be careful as one day this boy will take one of your places'."
Nevertheless, it is Tami who has been crucial to her husband's career, and was partially behind his decision to reject the chance to manage England in 2007. Mourinho's better half also played a key role in his decision to reject the job.

During his first stint at Stamford Bridge, Mourinho was heavily linked with replacing Steve McClaren as the Three Lions boss before receiving some sage advice from his spouse.
"My players said, 'the guys from Manchester United and Liverpool call us and say to us: Tell your boss to come.' I had lots of positive things to push me," the Portuguese boss later revealed.
"My wife told me not to take it, and she was right. It was the right decision. We are talking about seven years ago... and I cannot wait two years for a big competition. I cannot be spending two years playing against Kazakhstan and San Marino."
Shock arrest'The Special One' has never shied away from drama throughout his career but actually ended up in handcuffs during his initial tenure with Chelsea, after a row with officers over his beloved pooch.

Mourinho was held by police in May 2007 following a visit from an animal health inspector and two constables to his London residence to seize his Yorkshire terrier from the premises. Reports suggested the official sought to quarantine the canine, believing it had travelled overseas and returned to Britain without proper inoculations.
When the manager refused to surrender the dog, he was arrested and cautioned for obstructing police, with the episode later being dismissed as a "misunderstanding" by the manager's representative after his release without charges.
"Jose Mourinho can confirm that he was cautioned by police, and released without charge earlier this morning after an incident involving his pet dog," the spokesperson said at the time. "The incident occurred due to a misunderstanding over documents required for veterinary regulations.
"Mr Mourinho would like to make it clear that his pet dog was bought in England from a reputable breeder and has had all its necessary inoculations. Full cooperation will be given to the authorities over any animal health issues."
Remarkably, Mourinho's arrest came just days before he guided Chelsea to FA Cup triumph, with his team defeating Man United 1-0 in the final after extra time. Looking back on the episode during a chat with Gary Lineker in 2015, he revealed: "I won the FA Cup but it was a complicated week for me because I was in jail because of my dog.
"It's an odd story, the vet thought I was taking the dog from Portugal in a private plane and without the legal situation. They sent the police to my house to take the dog, but I didn't let them take the dog. So, because they didn't take the dog they took me for obstruction to justice.
"It was a difficult week - I was in that final but my family was not there because they had to stay in Portugal with the dog, for the dog not to go to jail."
