There’s a famous Bollywood line — “Jiska mujhe tha intezaar, woh ghadi aa gayi…” — and it fits perfectly with Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s story right now. Her recent Instagram post reveals what she had been waiting for over 6,084 days, and how she’s chosen to celebrate it in a way she’ll never forget.
Harmanpreet’s Special Tattoo Tribute
India’s World Cup-winning skipper has got a tattoo of the World Cup trophy inked on her arm. Sharing a picture of the tattoo on Instagram, she wrote a heartfelt caption: “It’s imprinted on my skin and heart forever.”
A Dream 6,084 Days in the Making
Harmanpreet made her international debut on March 7, 2009, in an ODI against Pakistan. Since that day, her ultimate dream was to lift the World Cup for India. After more than 16 years of hard work, heartbreaks, and determination, that dream finally came true on November 2, 2025, when India clinched their first-ever Women’s ODI World Cup title.
Why She Chose the Tattoo
Harmanpreet said she didn’t want to let go of the trophy that symbolizes years of patience and perseverance. “Now, I’ll see it every day — it’ll remind me that dreams do come true,” she shared.
India’s Historic Win
India lifted the trophy after defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the final played in Navi Mumbai. It was a landmark moment for Indian women’s cricket, and for Harmanpreet Kaur, it marked the perfect culmination of a 16-year journey — one now permanently etched both in her memory and on her skin.
