Tips To Avoid Heart Problems: Nowadays the trend of gyms has increased and everyone has started going to the gym to look cool. Especially the young age people are obsessed with working out in the gym. Gym centers have opened in homes, streets, and neighborhoods and crowds are seen in them. Most people want to go to the gym and do the toughest exercises so that their fitness becomes tremendous and muscle growth happens rapidly. For this, people also start taking many types of supplements. However, doctors have warned that all people should get their heart checked before joining the gym so that a life-threatening condition does not arise during the workout.
Dr. Vanita Arora, Senior Cardiologist of Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, said that going to the gym, doing weight training and cardio workouts has now become common. In the last few years, young people have suddenly fainted or become victims of cardiac arrest while working out. Such accidents have increased everyone's concern. To avoid problems like cardiac arrest or heart attack while working out, it is very important to get your heart health checked before starting the gym. Especially those youngsters who have never had any medical checkups before should get it done.
The cardiologist said that lifting heavy weights in the gym and doing high-intensity cardio or strength training for a long time puts additional pressure on the heart. If someone already has any hidden heart problem, then this workout can prove to be fatal. Common tests like heart rate, blood pressure, ECG, and echocardiography can tell whether your heart is ready to bear such physical stress or not. According to experts, people who have a family history of heart disease in their family or who smoke or consume alcohol should get their heart checked.
Those who are overweight or underweight should also get a checkup done. Even if there is a problem of fatigue, dizziness, chest pain, or shortness of breath, one should not join the gym without a checkup. All youngsters should do intense workouts in the gym or start heavy physical activity only after consulting a cardiologist. Fitness is a good thing for the youth, but trying to look fit forcefully can be fatal.
Many times youngsters join the gym without any medical clearance and start heavy workouts, which can be dangerous for the heart. A baseline checkup must be done before starting a workout. Apart from this, always start with light workouts, exercise under the supervision of a professional trainer, and pay attention to a balanced diet and adequate sleep. If you feel any unusual symptoms like heaviness in the chest, fast heartbeat or dizziness, stop the workout immediately and consult a doctor.
