Great British Bake Off favourite Tom Allen has turned his attention to gardening matters.
The comedian and TV host has donned his green gloves and demonstrated to followers the most effective method for eliminating hungry slugs from flower beds and greenhouses.
It's time to set aside those costly chemical-laden pest deterrents and discover Tom's completely natural approach, which can be easily prepared in your kitchen.
This clever trick will cost you merely 22p and has been hailed as 'brilliant' by gardening fans. However, be warned - it might leave your garden rather pongy.
"Worried about slugs? Well, one method I've been trying this year is garlic squash," the celebrity explained in a video. "Basically you make your very own orange squash but with water."
Tom simmers an entire garlic bulb for several hours in a litre of water and allows it to concentrate.
He then crushes the garlic cloves before straining the mixture through a sieve.
"You have this lovely garlic squash which you then dilute in about half a watering can of water and pop it all over your crops," he continued. "I found it very successful... Hmm, smells nice too."
Garlic can be purchased from your local supermarket for under £1.
For instance, Aldi is presently stocking a four-pack for just 89p, which amounts to 22p per bulb.
Tom's budget-friendly gardening trick was met with praise from hundreds of fans, many of whom claimed it had worked wonders for them. "It's the best method I've tried, other than squishing them," one user quipped.
Another concurred, remarking: "Did this last year on hostas - definitely works - pop it in a pump sprayer for coverage."
A third added: "I've done this!! Seems to help!! It just needs to STOP B****Y RAINING!"
Meanwhile, a fourth said: "Going to try this with some of the garlic we've grown. If it doesn't work on the slugs at least the vampires will stay away!"
