For those guilty of not cleaning spills on electric hobs immediately, they'll have noticed how challenging these burnt-on marks can be to shift.

If left untreated, with each use of the hob it can feel like they're becoming more and more baked on - making them harder to tackle.

It's always sensible to wipe the hob clean after every use, but it's reassuring to know that it's not the end of the world if you do have some burnt-on marks that simply won't budge.

Professional cleaner Ann Russell has come to the rescue by suggesting an item that makes it simple to clean these stains, and it's a staple in her cupboard.

Ann, who regularly shares tips on her @annrussell03 TikTok page, recently responded to someone else's video after they attempted to use Cif Cream Cleaner to eliminate the burnt marks on their hob.

In the footage, a woman could be seen using the product to scrub the stains, before leaving it overnight, and then wiping it away.

In the clip, the woman could be heard saying: "Well this is how it came out. I'm not so impressed. It took out a bit of it...."

Responding to the clip, Ann stated: "Cif is really, really good, but as you've seen, it has its limitations". For stubborn burnt-on bits, she suggests using oven cleaner.

Brandishing a can of Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner, she advised: "For the burnt-on bits - oven cleaner. Really. Spray-on oven cleaner. Works brilliantly. Spray it on the circles and it will dissolve [...]. It won't damage the glass or the ceramic top, but it's designed to remove burnt-on oven grease."

People in the comments section were grateful for Ann's advice, with one individual remarking: "You've taught me more than my parents ever have on how to adult."

Another quipped: "So here I am at 06:25am spraying oven cleaner on my cooker.

"Oven cleaner saved my deposit!" chimed in another.

If that doesn't do the trick, Ann suggests trying a scraper, but urges caution. Others had their own suggestions.

"The Pink Stuff paste is also good!" recommended one person. Another suggested: "Bar Keepers Friend and vinegar. Let it sit and it comes up beautiful.

"I just use a metal scourer get its off straight away don't even need any products tbh," wrote another.
