Escape To The Country's latest house hunter declared he had "never seen anything like this" whilst exploring an extraordinary property in Alnwick.
Jim and Rachel had journeyed to Northumberland alongside BBC One's property expert Denise Nurse, seeking a fresh home boasting a garden, ample bedrooms for visiting family members and an annex for Rachel's mother.
The pair were utterly astounded when Denise revealed her "mystery house" - a breathtaking residence featuring coastal vistas, six bedrooms, an entirely separate dwelling within the grounds for Rachel's mum and an intriguing hexagonal turret tower.
Whilst the tower's exact age remained unknown, it appeared on historical maps from 1851, reports Chronicle Live.
"It's such a brilliant house," declared Denise. "It's so quirky. It's the kind of house they could put their own thoughts and style all over."
During the tour, she highlighted the character features, the abundance of windows throughout the property and its generous room sizes.
The tower boasted an impressive entrance hall and distinctive hexagonal design.
"We don't often get the hexagonal towers," Denise revealed.
These uniquely-shaped rooms became the standout feature for the couple, who described them as "incredible".
"I love the shape, it's really interesting, isn't it?" remarked Rachel, with Denise confirming the property was "completely unique".
"I would say," added Jim. "I've never seen anything like this before. I think this is quite a statement house isn't it? Because it's so different."
Following the tour, Jim confessed it left him feeling "mind-boggling".
"I'm so confused now," he admitted. "It seems to be a mixture of all sorts of things, 1970s, French influences, the wood, but it would be a project for us, I think."
The property owners were seeking offers over £785,000 for the expansive home.
Ultimately, Jim concluded the house might be "a project a bit too far for us" and the couple chose to walk away.
They informed Denise that the properties she had presented had helped them realise they were actually seeking something rather more compact.
Escape To The Country airs on BBC One.
