Smoke can be seen for miles around, with reports on social media suggesting it's in the Victoria Mill area.
Pictures and videos posted online show thick black smoke rising, with one witness saying: "Big fire near Victoria Mill."
Victoria Mill is a Grade II* listed 19th-century cotton spinning mill in Miles Platting and has now been converted into offices.
