BBMP appoints M Lokesh as chief engineer for road infrastructure

Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) post of Chief Engineer (Road Infrastructure) was reassigned following a govt order transferring the Chief Engineer (Planning – Central) position to Bengaluru Smart Infrastructure Limited (BSMILE).

As per the Urban Development Department's directive and BBMP's internal communication, M Lokesh was appointed as the new Chief Engineer (Road Infrastructure). He took over the role from Prahlad BS, who managed the post in an additional capacity. Prahlad will continue to hold the additional charge of Chief General Manager (Technical) at Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited.

Officials were instructed to report to their new posts immediately and submit a Certificate of Taking Charge (CTC) to the relevant administrative office.

Lokesh brings over 22 years of dedicated service within BBMP. He started his career as an Assistant Engineer (AE) and steadily rose through the ranks—assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) for 3 years, Executive Engineer (EE) for 8 years, Superintending Engineer (SE) for 3 years, and Chief Engineer (CE) for 3 years—before assuming his current post as Chief Engineer—Road Infrastructure (CERI).
