JAMMU: Security forces launched searches Wednesday after reports of suspicious movement in Juthana Rajbagh area of J&K’s Kathua district .
“Some locals reported the movements of three persons, including one who was carrying a heavy backpack,” an official said.
Soon after, J&K police and BSF personnel started the searches in the area along the Ujh river near Juthana village located near the border with Pakistan.
“The forces have not come across any suspects so far but footprints have confirmed the movement of some people,” the official said, adding the operation was on till late Wednesday evening.
Juthana area was the scene of a fierce gunbattle on March 27 this year between security forces and terrorists suspected to have infiltrated the border. Four police personnel were killed during the operation along with two suspected operatives of the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
